  • We are seeking instructors for the following: general arts & crafts, silkscreen, tie dye, jewelry making, ceramics, needlecraft, woodworking, leathercraft, and photography. We have three Arts & Crafts buildings. Instructors must come prepared with project ideas and will order their materials and supplies at camp.

Camp High Rocks

  • Camp High Rocks sits at an elevation of 3000 feet in the midst of 1100 acres of camp-owned mountain woodland, with an 11 acre lake, and miles of hiking and biking trails. Founded in 1958, High Rocks remains dedicated to providing a caring, challenging, and noncompetitive outdoor experience for boys.
  • Each counselor shares in various responsibilities: being aware of camper safety, organizing activities in camp and on trips out of camp, teaching specific skills, and supporting the campers' growth. Male counselors live in a cabin with 5 or 6 boys, ages 8-16.
  • Activities include: English Hunt Seat Riding, Swimming, Sailing, Riflery/Archery, Crafts, Tennis, Athletics, High Ropes Course, Pottery, Soccer, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Canoeing/Kayaking, Hiking/Backpacking, Caving, Fishing

  • Work as a leader and role model for gifted and motivated 2nd through 9th grade children. Provide a caring cabin atmosphere for 7 campers.
  • Teach a wide range of camp activities including fly-fishing, canoeing, fencing, rock climbing, painting, outdoor cooking, pottery, etc. Assist professional naturalists in morning hikes to waterfalls, mountain overlooks, through streams, and other adventures.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with at least one year of college experience. Must be mature, and willing to be nurturing and instructive to children as well as respectful of all.
  • Starting salary is $210 per week plus room, board, and laundry service. Additional pay for training in camp related fields such as wilderness medical training, lifeguarding, N.C. commercial driver's license, etc. Internships also available- please see website.

  • Counselors teach up to four activity periods daily and live in cabins with the campers.
